SK Water Ring Vacuum Pump

The SK Water Ring Vacuum Pumps and Compressors are designed to extract or compress air and other non-corrosive, water-insoluble gases that do not contain solid particles, in order to create a vacuum or pressure in a sealed container. The inhaled gases may contain a small amount of liquid.

Operating Principle
The impeller is eccentrically installed within the pump body, and a certain amount of water is injected into the pump as the working fluid when starting. As the impeller rotates clockwise, the water forms a rotating, closed water ring on the inner wall of the pump body due to centrifugal force. The inner surface of the upper part of the water ring is tangent to the hub, and the lower part of the water ring touches the top of the blades. At this point, a crescent-shaped space is formed between the impeller hub and the water ring, and this space is divided into several small cavities equal to the number of blades.

Taking the upper 0° of the impeller as the starting point, the volume of each small cavity increases from small to large as the impeller rotates 180° before completion. This small cavity is connected to the suction port on the end cover, causing the gas pressure to decrease in the space and allowing the gas to be inhaled. Once suction is completed, the small cavity is isolated from the suction port. When the impeller rotates from 180° to 360°, the inner surface of the water ring gradually closes toward the hub, reducing the volume of the small cavity. When the pressure of the gas in the cavity exceeds that of the exhaust port, the small cavity connects with the exhaust port, and the gas is discharged. Each time the impeller completes a full rotation, the small cavity alternately performs suction and discharge, with multiple cavities working continuously. In this way, the pump continuously extracts or compresses gas.


Applications

1. The SK Water Ring Vacuum Pumps are used to pump or compress gases that are non-corrosive, water-insoluble, and free from solid particles, in order to generate vacuum or pressure in a sealed container to meet specific process requirements. A small amount of liquid is allowed in the inhaled or compressed gas.

2. The SK Water Ring Vacuum Pumps and Compressors are widely applied in industries such as machinery, petroleum, chemicals, pharmaceuticals, food processing, ceramics, sugar manufacturing, printing and dyeing, metallurgy, environmental protection, and electronics.

3. During operation, the SK Water Ring Vacuum Pump compresses gas in an isothermal state, reducing the risk of danger when compressing or extracting flammable and explosive gases. As a result, it is more widely used in these sensitive applications.
